UPDATE: Deputies identify woman killed in Monongalia County accident

UPDATE (9/6/2018):

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department have identified the female passenger that was killed following a fatal crash on Point Marion Road on Tuesday night.

Deputies have identified the deceased as Jessica Boord, 29, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. 

ORIGINAL (9/5/2018):

A woman was killed in a vehicle accident on Point Marion Road in Monongalia County Tuesday night.

Robert Vanluvanee was traveling south on Point Marion Road near Warm Hollow Road at approximately 11:58 p.m. when he lost control of the 2003 Ford Explorer he was driving, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies said Vanluvanee lost control in a curve sending the vehicle over the side of the hill.

A female passenger, who has not yet been identified, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene, deputies said.

Vanluvanee was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are non-life threatening, deputies said.

Accident reconstructionists from the sheriff’s department responded to the scene, along with Monongalia County EMS and volunteer fire department personnel.

The crash investigation is ongoing, deputies said. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department at 304-291-7260.
