UPDATE: I-79 reopens following tractor trailer accident


UPDATE (1/4/18 1:26 p.m.):

According to Marion County 911, I-79 northbound has been reopened near mile marker 138. 
UPDATE (1/4/18 12:17 a.m.):

West Virginia 511 tweeted that crews are working to clear the interstate, but the estimated reopening time has been pushed back until 1:30 p.m. 


UPDATE (1/4/18 11:10 a.m.):

West Virginia 511 tweeted that a detour has been set up. Drivers are asked to use Exit 137 north to re-enter at the entrance ramp at mile marker 139. They are estimating that the interstate will be reopened at about noon. 


ORIGINAL (1/4/18 6:36 a.m.):

Both north bound lanes of Interstate 79 were closed Thursday morning due to a tractor trailer crash that left lumber all over the road way. 

The accident happened at mile marker 138 at about 4:45 a.m. There are no injuries reported at this time. 

Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Winfield Fire Department and Pleasant Valley Fire Department all responded to the call. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department will be investigating.
