A West Virginia University student is in the hospital after falling down a set of steps in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house Saturday, according to university officials.

David Rusko is in critical condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital, WVU Medicine officials said.

Rusko was visiting with other fraternity brothers Saturday after the football game when he fell down some stairs at the house, university officials said. He was transported to the hospital, where he is being treated for complications from the fall, officials said.

University officials said they are continuing to look into the incident to determine what exactly happened and have been in touch with Rusko’s family to offer them support.

Students gathered with family and friends Monday night in front of Woodburn Hall to hold a prayer vigil for Rusko.
