Elkins Main Street will soon kick off First Friday event series

Elkins Main Street in Randolph County will be kicking off a spring and summer full of music, food and community involvement.

This year, the main street organization has planned a series of six First Friday events as a draw to downtown activity.

Organizers said the purpose is to make Elkins a community destination with monthly block parties.

“The purpose of the events in downtown Elkins is to make a destination for the community.  We are looking to position the downtown district as a destination for activities that people can enjoy. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.  I am really looking forward to the whole series,” said Elkins Main Street Executive Director Karen Carper.

This Friday will be the first event held at Seneca Mall in downtown Elkins. Live music has been added to the itinerary for each event.
