WVU baseball finds offensive drought, drops series finale to No. 7 Texas Tech

West Virginia baseball dropped its third straight Big 12 series after falling to No. 7 Texas Tech at home, 10-1.

The Red Raiders had no problem generating offense throughout the game, but they busted it wide open in the sixth inning when they put up six runs. Those went unanswered by the Mountaineers through the game's conclusion as WVU couldn't find a rally to get back in the contest.

WVU track and field takes home two wins

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team closed out competition at three locations, with two first-place finishes at the RMU Invitational, at the RMU Island Sports Complex, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The team also competed at the EKU Twilight, in Richmond Kentucky, and at the Virginia Challenge, in Charlottesville, Virginia, at Lannigan Field, on Saturday, April 17.

Overall, WVU competed in 11 events today. Freshman Macey Crawford took first in the RMU Invitational’s 400-meter hurdles competition. Crawford finished in a winning time of 1:06.88. She was followed by freshman Lydia Moell who won the RMU Invitational’s pole vault competition with a height of 3.65 meters.
