Free healthcare visits were available to residents in Randolph County at Davis Medical Center.
Each quarter, Davis Medical Center hosts the no-cost visits to encourage area residents to seek a wellness visit as part of the PACE program. Officials say the no-cost visits are a way to service a large portion of the population who cannot afford regular visits.
“We find there’s a huge population in our communities that fall in this gap that they make too much money to qualify for government programs like Medicaid, but the insurance that they do afford comes with a very high deductible,” said Marketing and Development Vice President Tracy Fath.
The visits are designed to help patients gain access to low-cost care, get quotes for services, understand payment options, and save money.
