Amelia Henderson

Forecaster/Multimedia Journalist

Amelia joined the WBOY team in January 2018 as a reporter/multimedia journalist.  After more than a year at WBOY, Amelia has transitioned from being a fill-in weather anchor to being a full time member of
the StormTracker 12 weather team, as the weekend weather forecaster, while she works toward finishing her meteorology degree.

Prior to her arrival in West Virginia, Amelia studied sports media at Oklahoma State University, where she hosted and executive produced "The Poke Report," a national award winning college sports news show.  She also anchored "OState Report," Oklahoma State University's student-run newscast.  Amelia also won several national and regional broadcast journalism awards through the Broadcast Education Association, along with the National Broadcast Association, throughout her college career.

Before her time at WBOY, Amelia gained experience as an intern at News On 6 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Amelia was also a production assistant at Orange Power Studios, Oklahoma State University's in-house
production company.

Amelia's interest in the outdoors made moving from Atlanta, Indiana to West Virginia an easy transition.  She has her Dive Master Scuba Diving Certification and has a passion for international travel after
living in Australia and the Bahamas.  Amelia also played ice hockey as a goalie for 16 years.

Amelia has a passion for meeting new people and finding interesting and unique stories to tell.  Have a story idea?
