Friday (April 26)

The Philippi Art Stroll will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. The event is hosted by Wanderlust Coffeehouse and Wine Lounge in Philippi.

Saturday (April 27)

The 7th Annual CASA Superhero 5K will be held on Saturday at White Oaks in Bridgeport. Runners are encouraged to dress as their favorite superheroes. Registration is at 7 a.m. and the 5K Race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Kids activities also begin at 8:30 and will include face painting, balloon twisting and a photo booth. The Villain Chase will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Main Street Morgantown’s 20th Annual Chocolate Lovers’ Day will be held in downtown Morgantown on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. For $5 attendees will be able to sample chocolate treats at each participating business. 

The Harrison County YMCA will be hosting a Healthy Kids Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the VA Park in Clarksburg. This family-friendly event will feature face painting, music, a bounce house, food and more.

SteppingStones will be hosting the 2019 Miracle Ball Kentucky Derby Pre-Party on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place. This will be SteppingStones’ largest fundraising event and will feature a dinner and a “horse” auction, with all items created by SteppingStones athletes. “Horse” races will then begin at 9:30.

The 5th Annual Ramps & Rail Festival will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Elkins Depot Welcome Center. The event will feature arts and crafts, food vendors, music and a train ride aboard the New Tygart Flyer.

The 9th Annual John Randolph Spring Arts Kick Off will be held at Fort New Salem from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday. This special one-day event will feature live demonstrations by various artisans. The event is held to celebrate Fort New Salem opening for the season. 

The 11th Annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Clarksburg Dog Park at the VA Park on Saturday. Registration and games will be held between 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. The egg hunt will begin at 1 p.m.

The West Virginia Railroad Museum in Elkins will host a grand opening event on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. General admission is $5 and children under 12 and members will enter for free. Admission fees will help pay for the cost of the exhibit space, allowing the museum to keep WV railroad history alive in the community. 

The Coopers Rock 50K and Half Marathon will be held on Saturday. Registration will be from 5:30 – 6: 45 a.m. and the race will begin at 7 a.m. Pricing information can be found here.

The 2019 March-Westin Kids Fishing Rodeo will be held at the Chestnut Ridge Park & Campground in Bruceton Mills on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Angler registration will be held from 9:30 – 10 a.m. and the fishing rodeo will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. An awards ceremony will follow from 12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Morgantown High School will be hosting the Mohigan Strawberry 5K Run/Walk at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place Hotel on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit academics at Morgantown High School. 

The Shinnston Arts & Crafts Festival will be held in downtown Shinnston on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event will feature many local vendors.

The 7th Annual Walk for Autism will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort. There will be a 5K Fun Run, games and sensory booths. Therapies will also be available. Donations will benefit educational resources, training, community programs for children and families affected by autism. 

Sunday (April 28)

Mountain Stage with Larry Groce will be performing at the WVU Creative Arts Center on Sunday at 7 p.m. Mountain Stage has been the home of live music on public radio for more than 30 years and each two-hour episode is produced weekly by West Virginia Public Broadcasting and distributed by NPR Music on more than 240 stations across the U.S. General admission tickets start at $27 and student tickets start at $10. Tickets can be purchased here.

The Canaan Valley Half Marathon will be held on Sunday. This race will showcase the scenic beauty of Tucker County. The race will start at 8 a.m. and start and finish at the base of the Canaan Valley Ski Resort.

The Milan Puskar Health Right Spring Benefit will be held at Benton Grove Bed & Banquets in Morgantown on Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m. This event will feature music, a buffet and wine. The price to attend is $75 per person.

The March for Family 5K will be held on Sunday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the WVU Rec Center. All profits from this event will be donated to the local Ronald McDonald House in Morgantown to aid the families housed there.
