WEBSTER, W.Va. – The 55th annual Webster County Wood Chopping Festival kicked off in Webster Springs Friday afternoon.
Local craftsmen will be selling their products throughout the weekend at the festival.
Some items include homemade soaps, jewelry and of course chainsaw crafted wood carvings.
Organizers say it’s important to not only showcase the World Champion Wood Choppers, but display the work of local artists as well.
“Webster County involves all the local people,” said co-director Jack Alsop. “A lot of the Wood Chopping World Champions are from here in Webster County and it’s important to show everything that Webster County has to offer.”
The Wood Chopping Festival began in 1960.
