Broaddus Hospital in Barbour County has received new equipment to better serve patients and assist hospital staff.
The Davis Health System Foundation donated $10,000 to Broaddus Hospital for the purchase of a bariatric powered emergency room and treatment bed.
Hospital officials said the bed is helpful to staff and makes it easier to move patients for needed treatments.
“Broaddus Hospital is a critical care, critical access, hospital. It’s been really great for the patients because it goes down low. Patients don’t have to crawl up onto a bed, and we don’t have to lift them up onto the bed,” said Emergency Room Physician Jody Ackerman.
The funds for the equipment were raised through last year’s Broaddus Billionaires Club event and officials are happy to see the funds going back to the community.
