State Police searching for Barbour County man

The West Virginia State Police detachment in Barbour County is asking for your help to find a sex offender in the area.

Troopers said Edward Neil Phillips is wanted on a charge of failure to register or provide notice of registration changes.

According to the State Police, Phillips is a Barbour County resident who absconded from his Belington home.

Phillips is 46 years old, 5′ 7″ and 175 pounds, with brown eyes and hair.

He was last seen in the Philippi area on January 21st.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call 9-1-1 or your local State Police detachment.

Troopers also remind people that is is illegal to harbor or assist a sex offender in eluding law enforcement.
