Morgantown Marriott hosts first North Central West Virginia Job Fair

Close to 15 percent of Mylan workers were recently laid off in West Virginia, but now the Morgantown community has taken it upon themselves to help these workers along with others find new jobs within the area.

North Central West Virginia held its first job fair at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place.

This was a near four-hour event where different local companies and organizations from around West Virginia were taking resumes and interviews with many residents receiving job offers on the spot.

An organizer from the job fair, Frank Vitale, said this job fair was put together within a week by the good people of Morgantown and was all paid for by volunteers and donations.

“It’s great to see the community support, everyone rallying around and coming out and offering their support and services and jobs, and not $1 has been exchanged in the process of doing all this, everything has been either donated or volunteered,” said Vitale.

Over 40 business were in attendance for this job fair and brought more than 1,500 jobs to the market to help not only the laid off workers but also others seeking employment within the community.
