Operation Welcome Home helps veterans with recent job loss

Business

In light of over 400 people being laid off by one of Morgantown’s largest employers, a local organization is actively looking to help those that are veterans.

Operation Welcome Home has been approaching partners to look for employment opportunities and lighten the burden placed on the families that are experiencing job loss.

They have received an overwhelming response of job opportunities within the area as well as some in the southern part of West Virginia.

“We’re operating like we normally do in putting veterans back to work. We’re just operating a lot faster, and more efficiently as we’ve seen the influx in the past few days,” said Brett Simpson, CEO of Operation Welcome Home.

Over the past three days, they have helped seven veterans that worked at the corporation return to work.
