The Weston community welcomed a new business to the area Wednesday afternoon.
The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at P&G Hardware on Depot Street.
The store fills the lot formerly occupied by the Butcher Layfield hardware store that closed a few years ago, and owners say the store’s strength is their expertise on their product and their area.
“I’m a business owner, I grew up here all my life. I know several people, my partner Bob Pope, knows everybody, and we can just pretty much answer anything, and if we can’t get the answer, if we don’t have the answer, we’ll get the answer,” said co-owner Ted Garrett.
The new store is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
