Libraries are traditionally places to quietly read or study, but with advancements in technology, they are becoming much more.
The Marion County Public Library has revamped its digital librarian position in order to help patrons keep up with the library’s many online offerings and technology-based resources, like the 3-D printer.
“We have a lot of patrons who cannot really get out of the house. To have those online books for them, that’s the only way they can access them. We also have certain patrons with disabilities, this adds a level of ease for them to access it but also it’s just great for anyone who’s busy,” said Elizabeth Butta, virtual branch manager.
