Based on 11 years of its sales, CandyStore.com has released a study on the most popular Halloween candies for each state.  For the third year in a row, West Virginia’s is the Blow Pop, followed by Milky Way bars and Hershey’s Mini bars.

Customers in the Mountain State have purchased 44,123 pounds of Blow Pops, 22,139 pounds of Milk Ways and 18,211 pounds of Hershey’s Minis, the store said.  Of those three, only Hershey’s falls in the top 10 most popular candies nationally.  Skittles lead the way on that list.

West Virginia is the only state that lists Blow Pops as its favorite candy.

The national retail federation estimates that Americans will spend $2.6 billion on Halloween Candy in 2018, with the average person spending $27.  Nearly one quarter of purchases are now made online.

One statistic from CandyStore.com that we may not want to admit is that 50 percent of parents stash some of the kids Halloween candy away for themselves.
