On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Riding Program is changing lives of those with special needs.
“Everyday here is very positive. This field and the ability that these horses have to help people with disabilities has an impact that can’t be imagined unless you are apart of what we are doing here,” said Carol Petitto, On Eagles’ Wings Executive Director.
On Eagles’ Wings accepted its first riders in September 2007.
“It went from a backyard operation for the first about 9 years and now we moved to this wonderful new facility that is surrounding me in 2016. Which gave us the ability to be year round and serve a lot more people in a different type of programming.”
Carol Petitio started the nonprofit organization to provide a unique therapy for people with disabilities.
“If you’re here during the week we could have up to 60 volunteers during the week.”
Participants of the program have been known to say their first words, or have taken their first steps.
“We appreciate the community involvement we have and we love all the riders and participates that are coming to our program. We welcome anyone at anytime to come see our facility.”
