Thursday evening the Clarksburg City Council held its final meeting of the year.
The ‘Dream Team’ which is comprised of students throughout Harrison County was honored at the meeting.
They received a statewide award for their participation in the fight against drug and Opioid addiction.
Council also unanimously approved an annexation of 33 acres that abuts the Mountaineer Middle School and Liberty High School.
“Basically the end result for them is a safety issue. And it also allows for EMS response to that area in the event that they would need their services. So, it was a good opportunity to get all of that property annexed into the city of Clarksburg,” said Cathy Goings, Mayor of Clarksburg.
The annexation was requested by the Harrison County Board of Education.
