The Mon Metro Drug Task Force arrested two Michigan men on drug charges in separate incidents in Monongalia County on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, January 29 and into Wednesday, January 30, officers with the Mon Metro Drug Task Force (MMDTF) executed a search warrant on a residence on Chloe Lane in Morgantown. Officers said the purpose of this search warrant was to locate drugs and supporting evidence.
During the execution of the warrant, officers said Temayne Johnson, 41, of Detroit, Michigan fled from the address on foot. Officers said that upon apprehension and a subsequent search of Johnson and the residence, they located 18 bags of fentanyl and about 2.5 ounces of cocaine.
According to a criminal complaint, Johnson was arrested on Wednesday and has been charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and possession with intent to deliver cocaine. He is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail.
Also on Wednesday, The MMDTF executed a search warrant on Savannah Street in Westover. Officers said that Demonte Thompkins, 26, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan had approximately one ounce of heroin, 172 Oxycodone pills and a large amount of cash on his person.
Officers said they also located digital scales, zip lock bags, other packaging material and other items consistent with the sale of drugs. Thompkins had been identified as a source of supply based on evidence located at the residence and further by the MMDTF investigation, officers said.
According to a criminal complaint, Thompkins has been charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone. He is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail.
