A Clarksburg woman and Morgantown man are facing multiple charges after police said they were illegally in possession of two semi-automatic firearms.
Officers with the Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of brandishing of a firearm on the 600 block of Beechurst Avenue on Saturday at approximately 12:29 a.m. Officers said the male victim told police that he and his girlfriend were arguing earlier in the evening, and then he had went to bed. The victim said he woke up later and was confronted by his girlfriend, Jessica McCraken, 36, of Clarksburg and another man, later identified as Fred Hudson, 25, of Morgantown in his apartment. The victim told police that the man later identified as Hudson pointed a firearm at him and threatened to kill him.
According to police, the victim called 911 and provided a description of a vehicle that McCraken and Hudson were in. Officers said they located the reported vehicle while responding to the scene and conducted a traffic stop, which resulted in the recovery of two semi-automatic firearms. As police continued the investigation, officers said they discovered both McCracken and Hudson were previously convicted on felony crimes.
McCracken has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, and DUI. According to police, she is being held at the North Central Regional Jail pending bond or trial.
Hudson has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, brandishing and assault. He is also being held at the North Central Regional Jail pending bond or trial, officers said.
