5 men arrested following drug raids in Morgantown

Five men have been arrested following drug raids at multiple apartments on High Street in Morgantown.

On Wednesday, April 24 the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, Morgantown Police Department and Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department conducted lawful searches at two apartments located at 315 High Street, according to court documents.

During the search of the first apartment, law enforcement said they located large amounts of pre-packaged heroin, cash, packaging materials and a ledger. Law enforcement said surveillance in the days leading up to the search indicated that Louis Valentine, 26, of Morgantown was distributing controlled substances.

During a search a second apartment on High Street, law enforcement located a large amount of Oxycodone pills and Ecstasy pills, a large sum of cash and packaging materials. Mishawn Gordon, 31, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan was also present at the residence at the time of the search. Law enforcement said Gordon and Renard Ervin Jr., 25, of Detroit, Michigan were listed in the original search warrant.

In a separate incident on the same day, officers with the Mon Metro Drug Task Force executed another search warrant at an apartment at 305 High Street. Officers said the purpose of this search warrant was to gain further evidence that JD Thompson, 31, of Detroit, Michigan; Fred Hudson, 25, of Morgantown and others possess heroin and other drugs with the intent to deliver.

During the search of the apartment, officers said they encountered Thompson and Hudson and located digital scales, cash and approximately half an ounce of heroin.

Valentine has been charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin. Gordon and Ervin have been charged with possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone and possession with intent to deliver Ecstasy. Ervin has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Thompson has been charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin. Hudson was arrested on Wednesday and charged with the shooting that took place at Club Xotica in Monongalia County on Saturday. It is unknown at this time if Hudson is facing any drug charges following the search.
