Arkansas man charged with attempted murder in Marion County denied lower bail amount

A man accused of strangling a woman to unconsciousness in Marion County appeared in court on Wednesday.

Branden Priddy, 27, of Judsonia, Arkansas, is charged with attempted first degree murder and strangulation.

He is accused of strangling a woman in the parking lot of the Fairmont Police Department in October 2018.

On February 27, Priddy was in court for a bond reduction hearing.  His attorney, Tom Dyer, argued that what actually happened last October does not match up with the charges against Priddy.

The prosecution countered that Priddy has a history of non-appearance, fleeing and resisting arrest.

Judge Patrick Wilson said the nature of the charges is extreme, and he denied a motion to reduce Priddy’s bail from $100,000 to $50,000.

Priddy’s trial is set for April 15.
