Bishop accused of sexual harassment in Wheeling-Charleston

Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop William Lori the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. 

After the Pope accepted Bishop Michael Brandsfield’s letter of resignation on Thursday morning, he instructed Archbishop Lori to conduct an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment of adults against Bishop Brandsfield.

Archbishop Lori will meet with clergy and lay leaders on Thursday and Friday.

On Saturday, there will ba a mass in Wheeling at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
