Escaped Beckley Correctional Center inmate apprehended

Inmate William Lee Baker was apprehended by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department without incident in Beckley Tuesday night, according to the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety.

BECKLEY, W.Va – Raleigh County officials are looking for an escaped inmate.

Officials are searching for William Lee Baker, 41, who escaped Beckley Correctional Center on Tuesday, May 14 around 4:15 p.m.

Baker has prior charges of breaking and entering, grand larceny and burglary from Harrison, Lewis and Marion counties.

Baker is known to have brown eyes and brown hair.

Officials said that Baker was last seen wearing khakis, a grey sweatshirt and an orange toboggan.
