White Hall Police arrested a man accused of robbing a BFS convenience store, located at 9615 Mall Loop.

On June 17, police said Dereck Pritt, 21, of Fairmont, entered the store and went to the counter with his items.  At this time, Pritt asked the clerk for two cartons of cigarettes.  After the clerk told Pritt the total of his purchases, Pritt pointed a gun at the clerk and said, “give me the (expletive) money,” according to police.

After the clerk gave Pritt the money from the register, Pritt left the store and went toward White Hall Boulevard, police said.  Officers then received a call at Walmart of Pritt matching a description, according to police.

Officers approached Pritt and then ran his information, finding an active warrant in Marion County.  Officers took Pritt to the BFS, where the clerk identified Pritt as the robber, police said.  Pritt also confessed to committing the robbery, according to police.  Across the street, officers found the items taken in the incident.

Pritt is charged with armed robbery.  He is in North Central Regional Jail.
