A Marion County man is facing 24 sex charge counts after police said he engaged in sexual activity with two young children multiple times a week for a period of four years.
On Tuesday, March 19 officers with the Fairmont Police Department attended two separate forensic interviews, one with a 10-year-old girl and the other with an 11-year-old boy. Officers said that during the interviews, both the girl and the boy disclosed that Joseph Fleming, 37, of Fairmont, had been engaging in sexual activity with them 2-3 times a week for a period of four years. Officers said these acts occurred at Fleming’s home.
Fleming has been charged with eight counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in position of trust, eight counts of first degree sexual assault and eight counts of incest. He is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail. His bail has been set at $240,000.
