Federal inmate at FCI Hazelton indicted on assault charge against correctional officer

A federal inmate at FCI Hazelton in Bruceton Mills has been indicted on an assault charge.

A federal grand jury indicted Daivon Duren, 32, on an assault charge, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Duren is charged with one count of assault of a correctional officer involving physical contact.  Duren is accused of assaulting a corrections officer who was on duty in November 2018.

If convicted, Duren faces up to eight years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Services investigated.
