Grand jury indicts Buckhannon man on drug charges

A federal grand jury has indicted a Buckhannon man on a drug charge.

Marlin Beckner, 44, is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.  Beckner is accused of possessing crystal methamphetamine, also known as ice, in September 2017 in Upshur County.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Beckner faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000, if convicted.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Mountain Region Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, West Virginia State Police, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the Buckhannon Police Department, and the Weston Police Department worked together on this investigation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
