Harrison County cheerleading and gymnastics coach arrested for possessing child pornography

A private cheerleading and gymnastics coach, who choreographed routines for Bridgeport High School cheerleaders, was arrested on a child pornography charge, according to the West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Jeremy Smith, 36, of Clarksburg, is charged with distribution and exhibiting of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to court documents.

Detectives discovered an IP address possibly containing child pornography and served a search warrant at Smith’s residence.

Smith admitted to detectives that he has a collection of child pornography on his computer, according to court documents.

More than 600 images and videos of child pornography were found, detectives said.
