QUIET DELL, W.Va. – The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department arrested a woman on a drug charge after a shots fired incident.
The sheriff’s department said on May 16, a deputy was alerted about an incident on Mayflower Lane in Quiet Dell involving the possession of methamphetamine and two guns.
Deputies on scene contacted another deputy and stated that they had responded to a shots fired incident and had located two people in a car sitting in a driveway, according to a criminal complaint. Deputies said the driver, Ashley Harris, 28, was seen reaching into the back seat, and a man was sitting in the front passenger seat.
Deputies ordered the people out of the vehicle, and while removing the man, they saw a smoking device and a small yellow baggie of crystal meth on the floor board next to a gun tucked partially under the front seat, according to a criminal complaint. The man admitted to deputies that he had fired the gun, which prompted the 911 call, according to the sheriff’s department.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies said they found two black unlocked boxes in the area where Harris had been reaching. Inside the boxes, there were approximately 1.3 ounces of crystal methamphetamine; multiple empty baggies for packaging drugs for street-level sales; a digital scale with methamphetamine shavings; and a loaded gun, according to a criminal complaint.
Law enforcement interviewed Harris, at which time she admitted she had been present when the drugs were obtained from a different location and had transported them in her boyfriend’s vehicle to Mayflower Lane, according to a criminal complaint. Harris told law enforcement that she had observed the drugs in the vehicle prior to their arrival, and she was aware of what was inside the black boxes, deputies said.
Law enforcement obtained consent to search Harris’ cell phone, at which time they found several messages corroborating her involvement in selling drugs, according to a criminal complaint.
Harris is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is in North Central Regional Jail.
