Juvenile enters guilty plea in 2018 fatal shooting in Clarksburg


A juvenile pleaded guilty Monday in a 2018 fatal shooting incident that killed a man in Clarksburg.

Memphis Murphy, 17, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the Feb. 8, 2018 shooting death in the Glen Elk neighborhood of 20-year-old Chase Oliver, of Clarksburg, according to the Harrison County Prosecutor’s Office.

In September 2018, a grand jury indicted Murphy on a murder charge.  Murphy was originally scheduled to stand trial this week.

A sentencing date has not been set for Murphy.
