Juvenile to be tried as adult for fatal Clarksburg shooting

A juvenile accused of shooting and killing a man in the Glen Elk area of Clarksburg will be tried as an adult, according to the Harrison County Prosecutor’s Office.

Memphis Murphy will be tried as an adult for allegedly shooting and killing Chase Oliver in February, officials said. An order was filed Wednesday by Harrison County Judge James Matish.

Oliver was shot in the head, police said.

Murphy’s case will be bound and sent to a grand jury, officials said, and an indictment would follow if enough evidence is found.
