West Virginia State Police arrested a Lewis County man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.

Police said on April 1, a trooper attended a forensic interview with the girl, who told police that Joseph Ferguson, 29, of Ireland, had her put on a blindfold and give him oral sex.  The girl also told police that Ferguson had put his genitals near hers, according to a criminal complaint, and that it happened at Ferguson’s home on Bablin Ingo Road.

A trooper and a Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputy spoke with Ferguson about the incident.  Ferguson told law enforcement he was watching pornography in his bedroom when the girl came inside to give him a hug, according to a criminal complaint.  Ferguson stated that at that time, the girl took his genitals out and gave him oral sex for a few minutes.  Ferguson said the girl then pulled down her pants and sat on his genitals before he realized what she was doing, according to police.  Ferguson then told law enforcement that he made the girl stop because he knew it was wrong, according to a criminal complaint.

Ferguson is charged with two counts each of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian and first degree sexual assault.  He is in Central Regional Jail, with bail set at $400,000.
