A man who was wanted for two bank robberies in Garrett County, Maryland and two bank robberies in Ohio, just across the border from West Virginia, has been arrested in California.
Charles Gibson Jr., was arrested in Victorville, CA on Feburary 7, according to Maryland State Police. Law enforcement officers were able to track him down after he visited a homeless shelter.
Gibson is accused of robbing the two banks in Maryland, one in Friendsville and one in Grantsville, on December 13, 2018.
He is also accused of robbing banks in Bridgeport and St. Clairsville, OH, in November and December 2018.
Gibson was also wanted on burglary and motor vehicle theft charges in Pennsylvania, Maryland State Police said.
He also had a warrant in Los Angeles that will need to be dealt with before he is extradited to Maryland.
Gibson is being held in California without bail.
