Marion County man appears in court after Morgantown shooting


A bond hearing and preliminary hearing were held on Thursday for a man who has been accused of shooting another man near Listravia Avenue in Morgantown on December 10.

The hearings were held for Carlos Pagan II, 28, of Fairmont, who was charged with one count of attempted second degree murder and one count of malicious wounding after a shooting in Morgantown on December 10 that left one man hospitalized.

During the bond hearing, the magistrate set Pagan’s bond at $25,000 cash or surety on the conditions that Pagan is only released to custody of his mother who lives in Marion County, Pagan has no contact with the victim and Pagan can only be in Monongalia County to attend class for barber school.

Pagan and his attorney waived the preliminary hearing, and the case will go to a grand jury.
