Marion County man sentenced to prison for drug charges

A judge has sentenced a Marion County man for drug charges.

Fredrick Chapman, 62, of Fairmont, will spend 7 years, 3 months in prison for drug charges, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Chapman pleaded guilty in November 2018 to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine; one count of possession with intent to distribute opium; one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana; and one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and distribute cocaine hydrochloride and heroin.  Chapman committed the crimes in Marion County from October 2017 to May 2018, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The United States is also seeking forfeiture of $37,829 as proceeds derived directly or indirectly from the crimes.
