Monongalia County man arrested after deputies say he fired gun at another man

A Monongalia County man has been arrested after deputies said he was caught on video firing a rifle at another man.

On March 30, 2019, an argument occurred between Colton Riggleman, 22, of Maidsville and another man, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department. After the argument, Riggleman went into his residence and got a .243 bolt-action rifle, according to the complaint.

Upon returning, Riggleman pointed the rifle at the man with whom he’d been arguing and fired, according to the sheriff’s department. The entire event, which happened on Basswood Street in the New Hill Community, was filmed, according to the complaint.

Riggleman is currently being held in North Central Regional Jail on charges of wanton endangerment.  is bail is set at $5,000.
