Morgantown Police charge woman with intent to deliver after traffic stop

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A Parkersburg woman was arrested in Morgantown after a traffic stop Saturday, according to a criminal complaint.

Morgantown Police officers pulled over Cortney Garrett, 29, of Parkersburg, during a routine stop on Elk Street in Morgantown, according to the complaint. Upon running the license plate for the vehicle which Garrett was driving, the officer found that the record on the vehicle did not match with her name, according to the complaint.

The officer then led a K9 around the vehicle, which alerted officers to something in the car, according to the complaint. When officers searched the car, they found a clear plastic bag containing 10 individual packages of MDMA, according to the complaint.

Garrett is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
