A Myrtle Beach man has been arrested after injuring three people, including an infant, and leaving the scene of a vehicle accident in Monongalia County.

Officers with the Morgantown Police Department said that on Saturday, Joseph Shenay, 37, of Myrtle Beach was involved in a vehicle accident on Chestnut Ridge Road, that caused injuries to the driver, a 9-month-old baby, and another passenger.

Shenay’s license is suspended due to having two prior arrests for driving with a suspended license in South Carolina, according to police.

Police said that a metal case was found inside Shenay’s vehicle containing a used syringe and heroin, which Shenay admitted to using prior to driving the vehicle.

Shenay has been arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, DUI with injury, and driving with a suspended license.
