Police have arrested the driver of a large utility truck that struck multiple vehicles in Clarksburg on Saturday, June 30.

Officers say that a white tanker truck driven by Julian Scardina, 43, of Clarksburg was seen driving through Clarksburg striking multiple vehicles on Baltimore Avenue and 4th Street before hitting a power pole and a residence on Broadway Avenue.

Police say that they approached the vehicle with their weapons drawn when Scardina put his truck in reverse and almost struck the officer.

The officer then fired shots at the vehicle in an attempt to get him to stop according to police.

Police then say that the vehicle crashed into a garage on Myra Street and was apprehended by officers.

Officers say that Scardina admitted to them that he was under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance at the time.

Officers also say that the residence on Broadway Avenue, the power pole, and the garage are separately valued at or greater than $2,500.

Scardina is charged with destruction of property.
