A private music teacher accused of sexually abusing two, teenage girls appeared in Harrison County court Thursday.
Joseph Prichard, 52, is accused of giving a 14-year-old girl LSD and cocaine and having sex with her after her parents would drop her off at his home for music lessons. He is also accused of having sex with another teenage girl over the course of four years, beginning when she was 13 until she was 16, while she, too, received music lessons.
Prichard pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or person in position of trust and two counts of third-degree sexual assault Thursday in front of Judge Thomas Bedell.
Harrison County Assistant Prosecutor Gina Snuffer said Prichard is facing 22 to 50 years in prison. She said she expects the defense to request concurrent or alternative sentences in a hearing on October 25 but that the state will argue sentencing and request the maximum
