Randolph county man arrested after allegedly throwing knife at man

A Randolph County man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly throwing a knife at a man following an altercation.

On Wednesday, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department responded to call saying a man had been stabbed with a knife.

Upon arriving on the scene, deputies spoke with the victim, Mike Gagnon. Deputies said that Gagnon and Brian Shepherd, 21, of Elkins had got into a physical altercation. Deputies also said that at some point during the altercation, Shepherd picked up a knife and threw it at Gagnon.

According to deputies, the knife Shepherd threw hit Gagnon in the left upper arm.

Shepherd was placed under arrest and charged with one count of malicious wounding.
