Retired Harrison County deputy enters plea in road rage incident

A retired Harrison County deputy appeared in Monongalia County Circuit Court Monday after an August road rage incident.

William Sothen appeared in court for a trial after he was charged with battery in the August 28 incident. However, the jury was dismissed, and Sothen made a plea offer of no contest, waiving his right to file an appeal.

Cell phone video was shown, where Sothen took Amber Generally, 21, to the ground.

A judge sentenced Sothen to 90 days of home confinement, and he must pay court costs, along with jury expenses.
