Seneca Rocks was recently vandalized by spray painters.
Forest Service Official Troy Waskey said that it is disappointing that someone painted on the rocks.
“Situations like this are usually rare in this area, I think because people here enjoy and appreciate the opportunities they have to experience their public lands. Findings graffiti on rocks or elsewhere is really disappointing because it takes away from these experiences,” said Waskey.
Waskey also explained that funds that were reserved for improvements will now have to be used to clean up the vandalism.
“It results in the Forest Service using its limited resources to clean it up when we could be out improving trail conditions, clearing downed trees, and doing things that more directly benefit the visitors that care about those places,” said Waskey.
