West Virginia State Police in Lewis County are investigating the passing of phony $100 bills.

Police said the Weston Walmart received two fake $100 bills, which were actually $20 bills.  The counterfeiter bleached the bills and printed over them, according to police.

There are several indicators of the fake $100 bills, including incorrect watermarks and security threads, police said.
