West Virginia State Troopers have arrested a man in Webster County that they said threatened to shoot a woman’s dog.

According to troopers, deputies responded to an assault and a shots fired called on Givens Run Road in Upperglade on Wednesday, July 5.

Troopers say that Mikel Morrison, 34, of Cowen physically assaulted a female over an on-going situation in reference to the female’s dogs.

The female told troopers that Morrison was very upset and yelling at her, and at one point struck her in the neck area with his fists.

The female also informed troopers that Morrison pulled out a small black handgun from his front pocket, pointed it at her, fired the gun away from her, and told the female that “he was going to kill her dog”.

Troopers then say that Morrison ran back to his residence next door and ultimately hid the handgun.

Morrison is charged with wanton endangerment.
