The West Virginia State Police has identified the woman arrested with Christopher Dotson in Beverly on Sunday night.

WVSP Captain S. R. Oglesby said Dotson’s girlfriend, Lauren Summerfield was also in the home at the time of the arrest.

The Elkins detachment of the State Police has charged Summerfield with felony aiding and abetting.


A man charged with first-degree murder in Braxton County was arrested in Randolph County after he failed to appear for a court hearing on April 17.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Christopher Dotson was arrested at 7:45 Sunday evening at a mobile home on Elderberry Drive in Beverly.

Dotson was expected to appear for a hearing in Braxton County on April 17 on a first-degree murder charge.  He was charged with the crime in 2017 and was released on bond in November 2018.

Supervisory Deputy Terry Moore says a loaded firearm was located near Dotson, and another woman in the home with him at the time was also arrested.

Dotson will be lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
