UPDATE: Second man arrested in Morgantown burglary

UPDATE (12/19/2018)

A second man was arrested on Wednesday for his involvement in a burglary at a residence on Wiles Street in Morgantown on Monday.

During investigation into the burglary, officers said they identified a second suspect, Brett Barton, 21, of Parkersburg, and obtained warrants for his arrest. According to police, at approximately 11:00 a.m. on December 19, officers located Barton in the area of the Suncrest Town Centre.

Barton was taken into custody without incident and is pending arraignment. This case is considered closed by the Morgantown Police Department.

A Mercer County man was arrested during a burglary at a residence on Wiles Street on Monday, according to police.

Officers with the Morgantown Police Department said they responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on Wiles Street on Monday. According to police, officers arrived on scene and found a broken window at the residence, and observed a suspect inside the residence wearing a ski mask. 

Officers said they ordered the suspect to come out of the residence, but he ignored their commands. Officers with the Morgantown Police Department, with assistance from officers with the WVU Police Department made entry into the residence and took the suspect into custody without further incident, according to court documents.

According to police, the suspect was identified as Benjamin Culicerto, 22, of Princeton. Culicerto has been charged with burglary, and is being held awaiting arraignment.
