UPDATE (2/14/18 at 2:30 p.m.):

The victim of a shooting, which happened in the Glen Elk area of Clarksburg Thursday night, has died, according to the Harrison County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The person arrested for the shooting is a juvenile, officials said, and no additional information is being released about the incident at this time.

A man was shot early Thursday night on Werninger Street in Clarksburg.

The Clarksburg Police Department has arrested the alleged suspect in the shooting, which took place shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff Department, the Clarksburg Fire Department, Harrison County EMS, and West Virginia State Police arrived on scene and secured the area, officials said.

The man shot was transported to United Hospital Center and later flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. 

There is no word on his condition at this time.
