A West Virginia University basketball player was arrested after an alleged road rage incident in Morgantown.

Wesley Harris, 21, of Jackson, Miss., is accused of punching a man who drove the wrong way on Jones Street, according to the Morgantown Police Department.

Ryan Casteel told police he accidentally drove the wrong way on Jones Street due to a temporary road closure on Stewart Street. Harris allegedly stopped his Chevrolet Avalanche, began arguing with Casteel and then, got out of the vehicle, police said.

Casteel also got out of his vehicle. At that time, Harris threw Casteel against his vehicle, which left a large dent and scratch on it, police said. Harris, then, pushed Casteel to the ground and punched him in the face several times, breaking his nose, according to court documents.

A bystander who works for WVU’s athletic department identified Harris for police, and Casteel said the man told him his name was Harris.

Harris is charged with battery and destruction of property.
